Belly Infection? « Result #1 on Dec 23, 2009, 5:38am »
I got my belly button pierced nearly a year ago and for about 4 - 6 weeks (I can't remember) after I got it pierced I kept cleaning it and sometimes wore plasters over it when I slept just in case it got knocked or something while it was healing. I stopped cleaning it ages ago because I thought once it was healed it didn't need to be cleaned anymore. Just recently, around the top bobble bit, my skin has gone all scabby and crusty too. I haven't done anything about it but I'm thinking about cleaning it with salt water because I think it's getting worse. Does this mean it's infected?

As the reaction you are describing is most often caused by nickel, you can use Ti as majestica advices. If you aren't sure whether the Ti alloy contains some Ni, you can try some biocompatible polymer, as PTFE (Teflon), BioFlex, BioPlast, (...) as they are Ni-free fo' sho' :]

When I had my venoms new, I tore a little both of them because I was stupid and tried to eat a little too early. If you are obeying instructions from your piercer, you can't go wrong.
Re: INFO ABOUTE "TONGUE" « Result #24 on Jul 23, 2009, 9:37am »
Tongue is one of the less problematic piercing of all. It does not migrate, and because you are cleaning with your saliva all the time, so it is not so vulnerable to germs and so on ...
However, you should expect some swelling, even if you will not eat, talk or smoke for like three or four days after the piercing. And if you do, it can be somewhat uncomfortable. Some ice, cold beverages and painkillers should do the trick.
But when your piercer is experienced and flexible enough, you should not worry - it's his job to choose right placement and barbell size.

I'm totally agreed all suggestion from tattoomd .... Treatment of tattoos with laser systems has become much more effective with very little risk of scarring. Laser tattoo removal treatment is often safer than many traditional methods because of its unique ability to selectively treat pigment involved in the tattoo. but want you know about that can get more painful ....

Eyebrow piercing migration??? « Result #36 on Mar 23, 2009, 10:41pm »
hi, i got an eyebrow piercing about 8 weeks ago, however my school didn't allow it and made me change it at 2 and a half weeks (half the time i was told to leave it in for... but i didn't have much of a choice.) to a clear plastic retainer. at 6 weeks i changed it from the clear retainer back to titanium as it wasn't healing right. about 3 days later it appeared to have gotten shallower but has sort of stayed shallow now. I'm just wondering how shallow i could leave it before I'd have to remove it???? if it does become too shallow and i have to remove it will i be able to get it re-pierced behind the scar tissue?

Most tattoos can best be removed with a laser. If you had a tattoo just placed, dermasal might work, but I don't think it would be effective on an old tattoo. Laser tattoo removal is tried and true and give the best success with the least side-effect.
Just starting out... « Result #45 on Sept 23, 2008, 1:58am »
Hi I'm just starting out in tatooing, my husband is my (very willing) canvas! Up till now I have used a basic needle dipped in different colour tattoo inks, and my first few tatts look pretty good.
We have saved up and bought a tattoo kit (gun, needles, etc) but I have no idea how to set it up or anything. I thought it might come with some basic instructions!
Can anyone tell me where to find the 'how to...' help I need - I don't personally know any professional tatooists or I would go to them!
Sites with Tattoo Designs and Photos « Result #47 on Aug 13, 2008, 3:21pm »
Hi everybody, I'm looking for places to find tattoo photos, designs and art, but I don't know where to start. I went on Google and didn't really find what I was looking for. A friend told me about LiveNeedle and has a membership with them, but I just don't have the money right now to be purchasing anything online. Although he says they have just a ton of tattoo designs. If you know of any free alternatives, let me know

hi. i don't mean to scare you out of getting your tongue pierced. but make sure you go to a very experienced piercer. i got my tongue pierced two weeks ago. right away it swelled up to enormous size, plus it hurt like hell. i couldn't talk or eat anything for days. on the fourth day my tongue started to turn dark blue and i noticed a little bit of blood coming out of the top hole. so i went back to my piercer and had it looked at. turns out they pierced it wrong at an angle and punctured a vein. so it was bleeding inside my tongue. so i had to have it taken out and let my tongue heal. but the veins in the tongue get blood to the rest of your body. i took very good care of my piercing, but in case it would've gotten infected, i could've died, because the infection would've spread all over my body very quickly through blood. so be very careful. for most people it's no big deal, but there are some exceptions... good luck.
